Auto Transmission Wiring
At the same time as an engine swap, many people opt to upgrade their transmission to either the 6hp (6 speed) or 8hp (8 speed).
This upgrade completely transforms the drive of a vehicle. A Land Rover Defender with a silky smooth transmission and seamless gear changes we hear you ask?! The answer is yes!
For most people opting for the 6 speed, we would recommend fitting a matching engine and transmission from the same donor vehicle. This reduces the likelyhood in having a mismatch in communication protocols. It will also mean that you have most the wiring already in place.

E53 6hp26x
This is the most comon 6 speed that is fitted. The E60 version (2wd) will follow similar principles.

We don’t actually need to provide a diagram for this, we have done the work for you with out ‘Plug and Play’ CANTCU loom. This enables you to fit an F series 8hp70 to an M57N/N2 with 3 wires – +12v, ignition and earth. Click here
